Discover world-class wines on this fun and interactive small-group wine tour offering a great taste of Central Otago’s wine, history, sights and cuisine.
Enjoy wine tastings from four premium vineyards over three contrasting wine sub-regions; Gibbston and the lesser-known Cromwell and Bannockburn basin.
Stop in for a lunch at Carrick Winery and Restaurant (or a similar lunch venue if not available). Sit down and savour a delightful platter-style lunch made with locally sourced produce. This will be accompanied by a flight of delectable estate wines.
There will be time to stroll around the vineyard, take some stunning photos of the Bannockburn Inlet and Lake Dunstan or sneak a glance at the barrel hall and wine-making facilities if this is of interest.
Sit back and relax in our luxury Mercedes-Benz minivans and take in the sights while our specialist Wine Guide provides a full commentary on the wine, sights and early history, ensuring an entertaining drive with plenty of photo opportunities along the way.

Please note children aged 6 – 17 years are welcome on our daily Boutique Wine Tour. Unfortunately children under 17 years are not allowed inside the Gibbston Valley wine cave. This means that they can only join our Gourmet Food and Wine Tour or Classic Wine Tour if they are able to sit with the guide in the Gibbston Valley Winery cellar door unaccompanied by their parents/caregivers while they take part in the cave tour (approximately 30-45 minutes).
Children of all ages are welcome on our private tours but the same rules apply if parents/caregivers wish to experience the cave tour at Gibbston Valley Winery. Alternatively, we can arrange a tasting in the cellar door, or swap the Gibbston Valley Winery altogether for a different vineyard on request.

I have been to many wine tastings being from California and I felt the tour company ensured we had a unique experience at each location, thank you. I am also fussy about my food and was delighted by the lunch...wow! That day we had goat meatballs on polenta, venison with a wine sauce, skin on salamon, pork and all sorts of veggies along with a flight of wines matched to the food. Our host was gracious and gave us 15 minutes to scoot around Arrowtown very quickly. Each of the wineries treated us with their best pours and helpful tasting notes. Lunch was a real treat, we asked for the vegetarian option and it was one for the best plates we had in NZ. We were picked up from our hotel by John, who was wonderfully engaging and knowledgeable about the area we were travelling through. We went to the Cardrona Distillery for a personal tour of the distillation process and tasting afterwards, which was wonderfully delivered by the team at Cardrona. We then went to Kinross Vineyard's Celler Door which was representing 5 different vineyards followed by a food platter - all was amazing and well delivered by the local teams. The sommelier were fantastic too. This region is known to produce some of the best Pinot Noir in the world. I learned sooooo much ... and tasted MANY wines...in fact it was one of the most generous wine tours in terms of how many wines we tasted. We visited Gibbston Valley Winery, Akarua winery, Misha's Vineyard (this where we had the main food tasting which was seriously spectacular... my favorite food thus far on our trip), and Mt. Rosa Wines. The Central Otago wine region spreads from the outskirts of Queenstown’s Wakatipu Basin through picturesque valleys and dramatic gorges to the rolling vine-clad foothills of Bannockburn and beyond.
