This stop offers a perfect balance of wine, food, and leisure in one of Central Otago’s most renowned wine regions.
Travel onwards through cinematic landscapes featured in The Lord of the Rings, including views reminiscent of the Pillars of the Kings along the Kawarau River. This section of the tour highlights Queenstown’s global reputation as both a wine and film destination.
Step back in time in the historic gold mining village of Arrowtown, where guests can stroll the charming main street, explore preserved colonial buildings, and learn about the region’s gold rush history and Chinese Settlement along the riverbank. This stop provides a rich cultural contrast to the region’s wine and adventure experiences.
On the return journey to Queenstown, pass through Arthurs Point and take in views of the dramatic Shotover River canyon, where you may even spot jet boats navigating the narrow gorge at high speed—an iconic example of Queenstown’s world-famous adventure tourism scene.

The Central Otago wine region spreads from the outskirts of Queenstown’s Wakatipu Basin through picturesque valleys and dramatic gorges to the rolling vine-clad foothills of Bannockburn and beyond.
The region itself is broken into six wine sub-regions. Two of our Daily Wine Tours visit three contrasting wine sub-regions, each with their own distinctive soils, elevations and characteristics; all producing excellent aromatic and burgundy wine types.
Our carefully crafted Daily Wine Tours ensure you experience the best of the southernmost wine producing region in the world.
Tours run every day with a minimum of 2 and maximum of 12 adults ensuring a personalised yet social day out.
The vineyards we visit on all of our tours change daily and vineyards can be requested. Tours may include Mt Difficulty, Chard Farm, Amisfield and Gibbston Valley Winery.
