Experience a diverse full-day wine tour adventure, showcasing the very best from the Central Otago wine region. Your experienced wine guide will lead you on a tasting journey, travelling in style in a luxury Mercedes-Benz minivan.
The region is divided into six wine sub-regions, each with its own soils, climate and character. This tour is perfect for wine lovers - with tastings across three of the wine sub-regions (Gibbston, Cromwell and Bannockburn), you get a real chance to taste Central Otago!
Enjoy a guided tour through New Zealand’s largest underground wine cave at Gibbston Valley Winery, and savour a unique 5-dish gourmet lunch cooked in retired oak barrels - perfectly matched with five wines at The Stoaker Room restaurant in Cromwell.
You will also have an opportunity to visit Arrowtown (time permitting). Here, you can learn about the early pioneering history and how the wine region was formed. Your knowledgeable wine guide will have an array of fun facts and interesting stories.
Children aged 6 – 17 years are welcome on tour with Appellation. However, children under 17 years are not permitted inside the Gibbston Valley wine cave.
As a result, children can only join this tour if they remain in the Gibbston Valley Winery cellar door with the guide while their parents or caregivers participate in the cave tour. The cave experience typically lasts 30-40 minutes.
Children of all ages are welcome on our private tours. The same tour restrictions apply if parents if parents or caregivers wish to visit the wine cave. Alternatively, we can arrange a tasting a in the cellar door or substitute Gibbston Valley Winery with another vineyard request.
